Health is Wealth is a very old saying that we all know of. But in this fast paced life, where everyone is trying to run behind something, are we really able to realize the importance of health being our true wealth? I guess, many people would say No. We must have heard from our grand parents how slow their life was in the villages when they had no TV, car, Internet or even electricity. Can we imagine ourselves having such lifestyle? I guess, many people would again say No.

When we give ourself say half an hour on a nice day and try to retrospect, look back at the curve of our life and even others, do we not start thinking sometimes, what am I running behind? I have money, cars, good cloths, entertainment but am I still happy? I guess, many people would again say No.

Most of us are stressed due to fast paced life, do not get enough rest or sleep, do not have time to eat and exercise regularly. Thus, although we are having monetory wealth, we are loosing the precious wealth called Health.

Another dimension to this fast life, fast food etc. i.e. to achieve everything fast, diseases like Diabetes, Heart problems, Cholestorol, Blood pressure are popping up at much early age than what our grand parents had.

I read somewhere, your health is in YOUR hands. Does it not make sense? We know smoking, drinking, over eating and not exercising (all these called as sedantary lifestyle) result into our lifelong evil friends (diseases), then are we not grown enough to understand our health is in our hands? I guess, no one would say No here !

There are some basic principles of life that our saints always mentioned like staying away from evils. Although we may not be apply all these principles in this fast paced life, small modifications in our day to day life could bring about drastic changes in our health and mental peace. And Health being Wealth, would help us live longer and healthier life without being burden on our families during last stages of our life.

Other changes that one could introduce in life slowly are:

1. Meditating half our a day most probably in early morning. Meditation not only helps regulate breathing, but gives you energy to get the things done in the day.
